Dotty called the meeting to order at 7:10PM. 

 

Minutes of the January 18, 2008 meeting were previously approved by the board by e-mail and have been posted on the web.

 

The Treasurer report was unavailable.

 

Primary reason for meeting was to go over the arrangem= ents for the Ruidoso Conference.  <= /p>

 

We have 118 registrants and 30 vendors.

 

Registration will begin at 7:30AM,= ,  Board members are encouraged= to be at the convention center by 7:00AM.

 

Dotty will give an opening address to include history = of the chapter, welcome guests, encourage participation with the vendors, and anno= unce housekeeping information.

 

The guest speaker for Wednesday is Jennie Readey, CPPO, retired director of procurement for the Colorado DOT.  Thursday’s guest speaker wil= l be Tim Collins from El Paso, TX.&n= bsp; He will speak to the members about the “Cost of Procurement= 221; and other topics.  NMPPA will = host a 10th Anniversary Diamonds & Denim Dinner to honor the First NMPPA board.  Friday, the boar= d will conduct round table discussions for the different agencies in addition to E= va Maldonado’s presentation on the P-Card.  Members who attend the P-Card presentation will earn 4 points towards their NM In-State Certification.

 

Lisa Cooley with Centennial Contractor Enterprises Inc= . will sponsor a hospitality booth from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday afternoon.  Members will be gi= ven 1 complimentary ticket for one drink for that reception.

 

The Manuel Lujan Insurance Agency from Belen, N.M.,  will s= ponsor one of our breaks. 

 

James will send out Thank You cards to Lisa Cooley and Manuel Lujan Insurance Agency with the invoices.

 

NMPPA will pay the room charge for Tim Collins –= 1 night; Jennie Readey – 2 nights; and Eva Maldonado – 1 night.

 

The board voted to give the following prizes: 6-clock/= calender sets; 2 memory sticks; 6-$50 gift cards and 1-$100 gift card as the grand prize.  The original board wil= l also be presented with tokens of appreciation.

 

The Board will tentatively meet on April 25 starting at 9:00AM in Albuquerque NM, for a work study session to work o= n state certification materials and process.

 

Audrey will work on making sure members can download t= heir certificates for classes.

 

We will offer an overview of the Procurement Code in <= st1:City w:st=3D"on">Las Cruces in Aug= ust.

 

Audrey made the motion to adjourn 2nd by Jo= ann.

 

Meeting ended at approximately 8:55PM.
